Royals Playoff Game 9/30/14

The Royals won the World Series the year I was born (1985) and haven’t done much since. It had been 29 years since they’ve made the postseason, so when they got the wildcard in the 2014 season, we decided we needed to go. We bought standing room only tickets for the wildcard single elimination game. We decided we were going to make E’s very first Royals game a big one and that it was. The stands were PACKED and the crowd was 110% behind this team. The game was filled with some ups and downs, but the Royals ended up winning with a walk off hit in the 12th inning. Yes, 12 innings. That means we kept our 7.5 month old daughter out until midnight but it was SO WORTH IT!

Even the standing room only areas were packed so we spent some of the game gathered around available TVs.

E and I spent a lot of the game walking around trying to find a quiet area. E luckily slept through most of the game. Such a trooper!

This was a few minutes after the walk off hit. It was an unbelievable game that we won't forget.
