Our 4th of July weekend at the Lake started out a little differently this year. The Lake was the highest it’s been in some 26 years. In order to prevent any further damage to docks, seawalls, houses, whatever, the State instated a “No Wake Zone” for the entire lake until water levels went down enough. Seeing how we don’t currently own a boat, this really wasn’t that big of an issue for us. Actually, the calmer waters were kind of nice on that Friday (the 3rd). The only downside is that we couldn’t actually get in the water to swim and enjoy those calm waters. We made sure the power to our dock was off, but our neighbor’s breaker was in the water due to the flooding and they weren’t down in order to ensure there was not power running to or from it. It was a bummer, but we definitely would rather play it safe and we all stayed out of the water until the water receded enough. That finally occurred Saturday morning (the 4th) along with the “No Wake Zone” being lifted so we made up for the lack of swimming on Friday by spending the entire day in the water on Saturday!
And here is a compilation of the older E enjoying the lake.
